In the turmoil of fake diploma scandal, KCUE (President, Lee Jang Moo, president of  Seoul National Univ.) announced that it would start the nation's first academic credential verification service in September,2007.

KCUE will begin to provide various proxy services for the verification of academic records including degree, diploma, and enrollment records. Prospective clients for this service would be universities, private enterprises, and public agencies which want to confirm whether academic records of their future and present personnel are true or not.

For this service, KCUE established  「academic verification team」to verify the academic background of an individual and  also established the webpage (http://www.kcue.or.kr).

The users will be charged actual expense for the service.
KCUE also plans to establish "academic verification service center," which will specialize in academic verification service.

This center will enable KCUE to provide the same service with regard to the international students who studied in Korean universities as well as Korean students who studied in foreign universities.

It is expected that any trial to forge educational background will be blocked with this service and an effective human resource management will be possible, vitalizing transparent international exchange of human resources.
