Mr. De Zewaan, a senior policy advisor of Nuffic visited South Korea. Nuffic is a non-profit NGO funded by the Dutch government to foster international cooperation and internationalization of higher education.

The purpose of his visit is to prepare for the opening of a Neso (Netherlands Education Support Offices) branch office here in Korea.

Neso Korea will aim at promoting the bilateral relations between South Korea and the Netherlandsin the area of higher education and research. Neso Korea will also attempt to promote the mutual exchange of students and researchers and to enhance the educational and academic cooperation between Korean and Dutch universities.

In his visit to KCUE, Mr. De Zwaan, with SG Kim, discussed issues regarding educational developments in Korea, the opportunities for academic cooperation and exchange between two countries and the possibilities to establish a NESO office in Seoul.
