"The 23rd University Education Policy Forum,” organized by Research Institute for Higher Education (RIHE) of KCUE, was greeted enthusiastically by the participants at Hongik University on November 8th, 2007.

 The participants in the forum had in-depth discussion to suggest core policy tasks to the next government for strengthening competitiveness of university education in Korea.

 First of all, President Byungdoo Sohn of Sogang University (Vice-chairman of KCUE) opened the forum, and President Myunggwang Kwon of Hongik University welcomed the participants.

 The keynoter, Professor Jeonghwa Seo from Hongik University, spoke about ‘The Weakened University Competitiveness and the Development of University Human Resources’. After that, Director Byungwoon Kang of RIHE made a presentation titled as ‘Core Policy Tasks for Higher Education the Next Government Should Consider,’ which was followed by heated discussion on it.
