From February 13 to 24, Kim Young Shik, Secretary General of Korean Council for University Education, visited Lima (Peru), Mexico city (Mexico), and Washington D. C. (U.S.A).

 The purpose of his visit was to improve educational cooperation with Central and South Americas, to grope for participating in ODA (Official Development Assistance) project in those areas, and to publicize the new government's policies for higher education.

 During this visit, KCUE signed an MOU with Peru CONEAU (Comisión Nacional de Evaluación Acreditación Universitaria) in Peru and ANIEI (Asociación Nacional de Instituciones de Educación en Informática) in Mexico.

 With these MOUs, KCUE is planning to join the joint project and research for the accreditation system, to carry out a research for turning Mexico into an information society, and to exchange information and human resources.
