The Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) held its 24th quarterly Higher Education Policy Forum on April 18th at the KGIT Sangam Center in conjunction with the Korean Higher Education Policy Institute and Hongik University’s Office of Collegiate Specialization.

In anticipation of the policies of the new South Korean government, the forum’s theme was “Charting & Advancing University Autonomy.”

Seoul National University Professor and Former Minister of Education Mun Yongrin gave the keynote address, and Dong-a University Professor Pak U-sun, Kyung Hee University Professor Chŏng Wanyong, and Gachon University of Medicine and Science Professor Ch’oe Mi-ri gave presentations and held discussions on the areas of academic affairs, the university admissions system, and planning and finances.

More than 300 people attended the forum and had the opportunity to discuss and support university autonomy and universities’ competitiveness and their responsibilities.
