The CHE (Commission on Higher Education), an organization under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, visited KCUE on October 11th, 2007.

 After a training program and workshop in Thailand, they paid a two-day study visit to KEDI (Korean Educational Development Institute) and several universities in Korea.

 The purpose of their visitation was to learn good practices of Korea, especially on the development of policy and strategy for changes in higher education sector and the role of higher education in the social and economic development of the nation.
 
 During a Q&A and discussion session after a short briefing on the roles and functions of KCUE, CHE expressed their greatest interest in the issue of university autonomy and the unique role of KCUE as mediator between the government and universities.

 KCUE and CHE fully agreed that two organizations would cooperate for the growth of university autonomy in both countries.
