Introduction & Mission
The mission of the Council is to contribute to the improvement of our member universities’ global competitiveness on a foundation of autonomy, excellence, information-sharing, and internationalization.

The Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) is the representative association of four-year universities in the Republic of Korea. Our members are the presidents of virtually all four-year universities in Korea-both public and private. We work to increase autonomy and innovation, strengthen accountability, and improve education in universities by advocating to the government the interests of our members in academic, financial, and other matters and ensuring their reflection in higher education-related policies.

Specifically, we seek to accomplish the following:

Build a foundation for an advanced university admissions model and autonomy in admissions.

Develop a professional, internationally recognized system of higher education accreditation.

Conduct focused research on issues affecting universities and put forward policy proposals.

Provide diverse training programs founded on professionalism.

Support international networking and the cultivation of students with global perspectives.
