Guidelines for Early-Decision Admissions Announced[20080617]

Following consideration by its Deliberation Committee on University Admissions, the KCUE announced on June 17th key features and critical details regarding first semester early decision admissions for 2009 for 81 four-year universities nationwide. The 81 schools using early decision admissions will choose 11,740 students.

Among the 11,740 students, 5,064 will be chosen by 53 schools that will use normal selection processes. Thirty-one of the 53 schools will base selections exclusively on high school records; twenty-one will consider high school records, interview results, and students’ oral statements; and one will consider high school records, interview results, and other factors.

The remaining 6,676 students will be chosen by 70 schools using special selection processes that consider various factors.
