The Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the American Council on Education (ACE) to promote higher education cooperation between South Korea and the United States. Lee Bae-yong, Chairwoman of the KCUE, and Molly Corbett Broad, President of ACE, signed the agreement on July 1, 2009 in Jeju-do during the opening of the KCUE’s annual summer seminar for university presidents.
Specifically, the memorandum sets forth a work plan for the two organizations that includes biennial convening of a roundtable for university leaders from the two countries with a long-term plan to expand the roundtable into the first transpacific forum for higher education leaders in China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States to collaborate on issues of mutual interest.
